When they had their first wedding anniversary, the bride, Kaya, and groom, Zach, wanted a wedding gift.
So they went to Sears and picked out some “burberry boots,” which they hoped would help their wedding dress look more elegant.
“I think I love that it was just so simple,” said Zach, a social media producer.
“It was just a gift.
It was like, this is just like any other gift.”
But, it didn’t go as planned.
“My husband loved the shoes,” Kaya said.
“He said, ‘I love the shoes.
I love the burberry boots.
You got to be kidding me.'”
The next day, the two bought a pair of jeans, which were made in Canada, and bought a “buried treasure” hat from Sears, but it was still missing the heels.
“The next day we got a text from my husband, ‘Oh my God, the shoes were missing!'” said Kaya.
“We called the store and they were really helpful and they said they would try to get them.

But when they came to the store, they said, no, they can’t ship it because it’s an item in our wedding registry.”
The wedding registry The couple bought the shoes at Sears, and when they got home, they discovered that the shoes they bought weren’t actually on the registry.
They contacted the department store’s customer service department and the shoe store’s sales rep, who told them the shoes had been delivered to the home of the bride and groom.
“So when we got home and saw the shoes, we were like, ‘Wow, this looks really nice,'” said Zach.
“That’s when I realized, ‘You got to do something.
You gotta make this happen.'”
So they bought two of the shoes for $50 each and made a video message to the bride’s mother, who would eventually deliver the shoes to the couple.
“After the video we posted, my husband got really happy that he could have them,” said Kina.
“Because we had to do it.
Because we wanted to get that shoe.”
And that was just the beginning.
Within the week, the couple had a second wedding.
They bought the bride a new wedding dress, and then the groom got a new dress too.
“And they’re both really happy with their wedding,” said Jael.
“They’ve had to change their wedding dresses so much, and it’s been fun.”
Kaya and Zach plan to keep doing what they do to keep their wedding tradition alive.
“Just to keep the traditions alive, I just want people to remember that I have a wedding,” Kana said.
And they want people, especially people who are new to weddings, to remember how simple the process is.
“What we’re trying to do is show you that it’s easy,” said Shauna.
“You can make something simple that people will enjoy.”
